Just got a phone call from a lawyer, on his way to my place, he said, sounding a little annoyed that I had no idea who he was. Turned out he was on his way to the other Anders Fagerjord, as I sucspected. I have a fourth cousin or something living not too far away, and we share the same name, but he's not in the phone book. Don't know why not, as I never met him. Not only do I get his phone calls, I received a bonus card in his name, and a cheque for his earned bonus from Texaco. We use the same bank, Storebrand, which gave me an ID card with my picture and his personal number. Scary -- I actually had proof that I was him. Could be a movie. A little later, I got the tax forms for some stock he had sold. I wonder how much of my stuff he has got.

According to Statistics Norway's online database, there's only "three or fewer, or maybe none" named Anders Fagerjord in Norway. I am trying to imagine the problems if I had a more common name.

According to Pdom, there are 89 million people called Zhang, and I suspect quite a few of them have the same first name as well. How do the Chinese cope?

I tried to check for may name in Pdom, but it was impossible. It had no Anders Fagerjord in the US (any more...), but to search the world, I have to be English, Spanish, Russian, Indian, Japanese, Korean or Arabic. I can still get a domain with my name on, though. Better hurry. Fagerjord.com and Fagerjord.net are taken.
