I see the MoveableType crew has made a new tool: TypePad. It seems to be a subscription Web service, sort of a premium Blogger service. Its specifications list is also a sort of inventory of a standard blog these days:
Layout kinds: two or three columns.
Info stuff: photo, bio, email
Automatic stuff: Recent posts, email notification subscription
Lists of songs, books,friends, and whatnot
Easy photo albums
Moblogging: a bit obscure, but it seems to be the ability to e-mail posts and pics to your blog.
